Ultimate Concealed Carry: “The Colorado Tragedy AGAIN Reinforces the Need for Concealed Carry”

In the wake of the recent Colorado "batman movie" tragedy, officials with ultimate concealed carry have renewed their commitment to supply all law-abiding citizens with the ability to carry the protection they need to be safe at all times.

"My heart breaks for those who lost their lives in Aurora, Colorado so needlessly," said Kendall Montgomery, CEO of Ultimate Concealed Carry. "I can't shake it, the horror. I wish one law-abiding citizen in that theater was carrying a pistol. Lives would have been saved."

The July tragedy, Montgomery said, reinforces the need for law-abiding citizens to conceal carry.

"Ultimate Concealed Carry believes that the only place you should be without a gun is the place you are willing to die today," the holster's inventor, Steve Wiesner, stressed. "We are dedicated to equipping the good guys. Our company was created with one mission in mind: To provide a way for everyone who wants to carry concealed, to be able to, comfortably and hassle-free."

The chief executive officer advocates The Hide-It Holster, Grip-It Holster and Flashbang Holster, which she believes, provides the utmost in concealment, comfort and convenience while holstering everything from a .380 to a full-size .45.

"The Hide-It Holster features a below-the-waistband design that allows you to comfortably carry that .45 no matter what you wear, shirt in, shirt out, no shirt," Montgomery pointed out. "As long as you have pants on, you can carry wherever you go."

She added that the company's Grip-It Holster, which is within ATF regulations, fits most .380s, and is made to print like a wallet.

"The Grip-It holsters safely in your pocket and fires from within the holster itself," she said. "It's the wallet that shoots back."

Ultimate Concealed Carry, which has been featured on NCIS: Los Angeles to TruTVs Smartest Inventions and many national news and radio appearances, also has an entire women's line of holsters called the Pin-Up Collection.

What makes Ultimate Concealed Carry different from everyone else on the market, according to Montgomery, is that it's committed to equipping the good guys and gals, where all of its holsters are made in the USA.

"Most of our competitors' products require the user wear some sort of cover garment for complete concealment," Montgomery said. "We understand that comfort and convenience are the key ingredients to carrying concealed on a daily basis. Our holsters require nothing more than a pair of pants for the gentlemen and a blouse for the ladies."

Surviving and thriving is something Varner knows a great deal about. Her husband, Jeff, was diagnosed with cancer just three weeks after their wedding. At only 29 years old, they were told by the doctors that Jeff had only a slim chance at life and that they would never have children. The Varners were devastated...but also determined. Miraculously while Jeff was undergoing treatment, Jennifer discovered she was pregnant. The young couple beat the cancer and soon thereafter welcomed their first child.

Three years ago, Varner found out she herself had invasive breast cancer after celebrating the 10th year of her husband being free from colon cancer. At the time she was three months pregnant and her greatest fear was for the health of her unborn child. She chose to fight the cancer. This meant undergoing a mastectomy and enduring chemotherapy treatments all while being pregnant. Her husband Jeff became a role model and her unborn child provided her the strength to withstand the arduous treatments. Fortunately, the baby was born healthy, and they are all grateful to be alive. The Varner's named their son Kilian which means small and mighty.

Jennifer feels so lucky and wants to give back as much as she can. After going through breast cancer, she started a non-profit organization called Kilian's Kids, named after her son Kilian who survived chemotherapy along with her. That organization gives laptops and tablets to kids going through cancer.

"Today my husband is cancer free! Today I am cancer free! Mos women's jackets t importantly, my baby, Kilian, is perfect! He is a survivor too; he took that long hard journey with me. But I know it's not, I plan on having an amazing future. I have overcome and thrived."

Now it's Varner's desire through the 2nd Annual Survive and Thrive Business Giveaway to give back to another breast cancer survivor who has overcome. "I want to empower a woman and give her hope as she moves on and recovers from this life changing disease. Black Friday Backlash? New Survey from Caldwell VanRiper Shows Three Out of Four Shoppers will Avoid the Malls on November 23

A new survey conducted by Indianapolis advertising agency Caldwell VanRiper (CVR) has found that the majority of holiday shoppers – 73 percent – will steer clear of the mall on Black Friday.

The survey of more than 300 women across the country found that while nearly one third (31%) will participate in Black Friday shopping at retailers not located in a mall, 42 percent won't be shopping on Black Friday at all. The main reason – to avoid the crowds and "craziness" associated with fighting for Black Friday bargains. Only about a third (35%) of respondents consider Black Friday shopping a tradition that they enjoy.

"With major retailers like Wal-Mart and Target deciding to open on Thanksgiving night this year, upsetting employees who have very little time to spend with family over the holidays, I think we're starting to see a definite backlash among shoppers who've grown weary of getting up at the crack of dawn to try to get a bargain," said Kevin Flynn, president of CVR. "With the prevalence of online shopping and all of the pricing information that's available now, consumers know they don't have to fight the crowds to get the best deals."

However, the survey also showed that mall shopping during the remainder of the holiday season is far from dead. In fact, two thirds (67%) said that going to the mall with friends helps them get into the holiday spirit, and three out of four (74%) enjoy shopping at the mall with adult family members during this time of year. Two thirds of respondents (67%) like to shop at the mall alone, perhaps to escape the holiday hubbub. The holiday season is also the time that 70 percent of survey respondents are more likely to take advantage of mall amenities like restaurants and movie theaters. The most preferred items to shop for in the mall include clothing for the family (39%); clothing for themselves (36%); and jewelry and accessories (35%).

"Since the advent of online shopping, the pundits have been predicting the demise of the shopping mall, but our survey shows that fear has been overblown," said Flynn. "There's a social aspect of mall shopping that can't be replicated online."

Instead, Flynn notes that online and mall experiences are starting to converge, and complement each other. "Our survey found that a significant portion of shoppers are using their mobile devices in a variety of ways while they shop at the mall." For example, more than half (53%) always or occasionally take photos of products on their phones so that they can research them later. Another 53 percent take photos and send them to friends via text or email for feedback. Nearly forty percent (39%) share photos via social media for instant feedback, at least occasionally. Four out of five shoppers (79%) research products online before heading to the mall to see or buy them in person, and nearly half (46%) go online while they're shopping at the mall to compare products or prices.

"Savvy retailers are embracing these trends, offering to match online prices in-store, for example," said Flynn. "They are also looking for ways to drive consumers to their own online shopping portals versus going to a competitor, with things like QR codes you can scan to order merchandise that might be out-of-stock in-store, but available online. Wal-Mart is even offering same-day delivery on some items ordered online, and lots of retailers are rolling out their own shopping apps."

For more information on this survey, as well as other key consumer trends, visit the Caldwell VanRiper website at http://www.cvrindy.com.

CVR conducted the online survey of 333 women, age 25 and older, across the country in October and November, 2012.

Hello From Nova Scotia: 400 Years Of History At Port-Royal

Following my introduction to the quaint and historic town of Annapolis Royal I drove about 10 kilometers out of town across the causeway on the north shore of the Annapolis River and arrived in one of the most historic locations in north-eastern North America. Port-Royal is a reconstruction of a settlement – a "Habitation" of French settlers founded in 1605 by Sieur de Mons and Samuel de Champlain and one of the earliest successful European settlement attempts in North America. The settlement existed until 1613 when it was burned to the ground by Captain Samuel Argall of Virginia.

My expert guide for this introduction to early French life in Canada was Wayne Melanson, a ninth generation Acadian and twin brother of Alan Melanson who I had already met at Fort Anne during my initial discoveries of Annapolis Royal. Interestingly, on my drive to Port Royal I noticed a sign saying "Melanson Settlement", a National Historic Site of Canada which indeed refers to the forefathers of today's Melanson family. When I connected with Alan and Wayne Melanson, I realized that I had tapped into a piece of living history and was excited to learn more about their story.

Charles Melanson, the forefather of today's Melanson family, had come to today's Annapolis River area with his wife Marie Dugas in about 1664 and settled along the north shore of the river. The Melanson Settlement was an agricultural community employing the Acadian dykeland farming techniques that were unique in the colonies. In 1755 Charles' son Ambroise and his family were deported from the Annapolis area by the English as part of the Great Expulsion ("le grand derangement") once this area changed from French to British ownership. Wayne explained that six men, including Ambroise's son-in-law Pierre Bellieveau initiated a mutiny on the boat and overpowered the crew. Pierre's son Amand returned to settle in the Clare region in southwestern Nova Scotia.

To this day, some descendants of Charles Melanson are still living right near the original homestead that he founded in the 17th century. Wayne commented that despite this tragic past, people have survived and preserved their cultural identity, a testament to human fortitude and tenacity in the face of adversity. It was amazing to me that after this great diaspora of Acadian settlers in the 18th century two ninth-generation Acadian twin brothers would live and work right next to their ancestors' original settlement, both bringing history to life for the area's visitors.

Wayne is a presentation supervisor with Parks Canada, the federal agency in charge of many of Canada's most significant heritage sites, and his appearance reflects the style of dress of early French settlers in the area. He explained to me that today he was dressed in the style of working class people with a simple shirt and pants, covered by a heavy woolen cape against the cold. On his feet he was wearing wooden clogs, a popular piece of footwear at the time.

We entered the habitation through the wooden gate that features the coat of arms of Henri IV, King of France in 1605 when the original habitation would have been built. The coats of arms of the two governors, Sieur de Mons and Sieur de Poutrincourt, are also represented above the doorway.

The entire Port-Royal complex consists of six attached wooden buildings located around a central courtyard. The buildings were reconstructed from 1939 to 1940 and are a historically accurate replica of the original habitation. This project was a result of the efforts of Harriet Taber Richardson of Cambridge, Massachusetts who raised funds to bring in a Harvard-educated archeologist for the authentic reconstruction of this early French settlement.

The Port-Royal Habitation is an excellent example illustrating the lifestyle and hardships of the early French settlers and fur traders that settled in the eastern part of Canada. Wayne explained that the original settlement held about 30 craftsmen and 15 gentlemen, including a surgeon, a lawyer and a ship's pilot. No women were residing in Port-Royal.

We started our walk at the forge where metal goods were produced on site. The blacksmith was an important member of the community because he produced the hardware needed for the upkeep of the habitation. He also fabricated goods for trade with the Mi'kmaq First Nations People which contributed directly to the settlements financial well-being.

The kitchen next door was a place where geese, rabbits and other interesting dishes would be prepared and fresh bread would be baked. The adjacent Common Room was decked out in 17th century style with pewter tableware and was the location of frequent dinners of the French settlers and Mi'kmaq natives. The "Order of Good Cheer" was the first European social club, founded to while away the long dark winter nights. Prominent members of the colony took turns preparing a feast, arranging entertainment and preparing delicacies such as fricasseed beaver tail and boiled moose nose.

Despite the harsh conditions at the early settlement, culture was present at Port-Royal. A Parisian lawyer by the name of Marc Lescarbot, spent the winter of 1606-1607 at the Habitation and wrote a play called "The Theatre of Neptune" which was first performed in November of 1606. He also chronicled life in the habitation and his records provide great insight into the daily challenges of early French settlers.

Wayne then introduced me to the second-story dormitory that at the time would have held about 30 craftsmen, including joiners, carpenters, masons, stonecutters, locksmiths and iron workers. These men were required to work three hours a day at their trade and could use the rest of their time to go fishing, hunting or tend their gardens. A foot-powered spring pole lathe was made to turn wood and create objects such as spindles, goblets and candlesticks. Wayne gave me a demonstration of this contraption and the functionality of this human-powered piece of equipment was astounding.

The apothecary next door was in charge of ensuring the health of the early settlers. Various herbs would be crushed with a pestle and mortar to provide remedies for common health problems. This was a harsh environment and many of the original inhabitants did not survive the harsh winters.

Several gentlemen's quarters follow, each equipped with bunk beds and draw curtains for privacy. Generally each room was inhabited by two to four gentlemen and equipped with a table, chair, wardrobe, a large bench and a fireplace. The largest sleeping quarters are those of the Governor which are decorated with a smoked moose hide, artwork originally produced by the Mi'kmaq natives which was much admired by the French settlers. Wayne explained that moose hide would often be worn to protect against the cold. The most effective way was to wear the hairy side on the inside with the smooth part facing outside.

The next building holds the fur storage area where furs from various animals are displayed, including beaver, silver fox, bobcat, raccoon, timber wolf, otter and lynx furs. Wayne informed me that beaver fur was the most valuable fur since there was a big craze for beaver fur hats at the European royal courts. Essentially the entire early settlement of Canada was a result of Europe's fashion hunger for beaver fur. Rabbit fur was also used to make hats, but in order to remove the keratin from the hair, mercury had to be used which had severe effects on the mental health of the craftsmen producing the hats. Wayne explained that this is where the expression "mad as a hatter" comes from.

When we entered the wine cellar, my expert guide pointed out that every man who resided here received 1.5 pints (about 1 litre) of wine a day. Wine was considered much healthier since much of the water in the early communities was polluted due to poor sanitary conditions. People would toss their slob buckets into the rivers, effectively contaminating their own drinking water supply.

Next door we entered the trading room which was a room were barter transactions for basic goods would take place. In a loft upstairs a Mi'kmaq canoe as well as an original coffin is on display. The steep roof would help the snow slide off during the long harsh winters. Wayne then took me outside to the Cannon Platform from where there is a great view over the Annapolis River. Any intruder approaching the area could easily be seen from this platform.

Outside the Habitation is a monument honouring Membertou, one of the great Mi'kmaq chiefs who helped the French adapt and survive in Acadia who together with his family was baptized in 1610. I thanked Wayne Melanson for his great introduction to Port-Royal, this early place of French history. On an increasingly cloudy day I made my way back to Annapolis Royal, stopping to take some pictures of a few beautiful house in Granville Ferry, the town located directly across from Annapolis Royal. Prior to an earlier bridge and today's causeway, Granville Ferry was indeed the location of a ferry service that would connect both towns by ship.

Shortly after I arrived back in Annapolis Royal and was more than ready for a tasty dinner. And I would have a chance to see history brought to life in my much anticipated Garrison Graveyard Tour, to be presented by Alan Melanson, th fashion jackets online e other member of this duo of historic experts.

Information about Human Hair Follicle

Histology is the study of the microscopic anatomy of cells and tissues of plants and animals. It is performed by examining a thin slice (section) of tissue under a light microscope or electron microscopy. The ability to visualize or differentially identify microscopic structures is frequently enhanced through the use of histological stains.

Histopathology, the microscopic study of diseased tissue, is an important tool in anatomic pathology, since accurate diagnosis of cancer a women's jackets nd other diseases usually requires histopathological examination of samples.

Introduction - Vertical sections of scalp biopsy samples have provided the traditional view of hair follicles; indeed, most anatomical and histopathological features of hair follicles have been described in vertical sections. However, recently, the value of horizontal (transverse) sectioning has been recognized. In fact, a thorough knowledge of follicular anatomy in both planes is needed to obtain maximum information from scalp biopsy samples.

History - Considerable knowledge of hair follicle anatomy was amassed by histologists in Europe in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Further progress was made later in the twentieth century in research and symposia directed by William Montagna. The concept of horizontal sectioning was introduced by Headington in 1984 and an increasing number of dermatopathologists now interpret horizontal sections.

Structure and Function - Hair follicles comprise a permanent upper segment of follicular infundibulum and isthmus, and an impermanent lower segment of lower follicle and bulb. They cycle continuously through periods of growth and rest, namely anagen and telogen. The lower segment is responsible for generation of the growing hair and disappears during the resting phase. The cylindrical hair fiber is extruded continuously during the growth phase. The hair fiber cortex consists of keratin filaments embedded in a sulfur-rich matrix, enclosing the medulla and surrounded by the cuticle of the hair shaft. It is generated by transient amplifying matrix cells in the hair bulb, which surround the dermal papilla. The hair fiber diameter remains uniform during a single growth phase under normal conditions. The entire hair follicle is enclosed by the outer root sheath or trichilemma, which extends from the hair bulb to the skin surface epidermis lining the infundibulum. The inner root sheath invests the growing hair fiber from bulb to mid-isthmus level.

Human hairs grow to a specific length, which varies with the individual. Hair length depends on genetic influences, body site, climate, age, and nutritional, hormonal and other factors. Hair length is determined by the rate and duration of anagen. Scalp hair grows an average of 1 cm per month and the anagen growth phase lasts 1-7 years; therefore, scalp hairs can grow 12-84 cm in length. Hairs of different diameters are commonly found in the same scalp.

On a normal scalp there are 100,000-150,000 scalp hairs, of which 90%-95% are growing and 5-10% are resting. The telogen or resting phase lasts 3 months (range 2-4 months). Adjacent hairs cycle independently so that shedding is scattered and inconspicuous rather than localized and obvious. Hair is subject to weathering from normal wear and tear, and keratinized hair cannot repair itself. However, hair will replace itself, with new hair growing in after the old hair is shed. Therefore, hair cycling is of paramount importance. Hair development starts after 8 weeks of fetal life with the appearance of placodes in the epidermal basal layer, above underlying dermal condensates of mesothelial cells. Epidermal pegs grow down to enclose these dermal papillary cells. When downward extension and follicular formation are complete, hair growth ensues and the initial hair population is complete by 22 weeks.

Fine lanugo hair develops in an advancing wave from the frontal to the occipital scalp and is shed by 36 weeks gestation. A second coat of lanugo hair appears and it is shed in a synchronized wave pattern at 3-4 months of life. The bare occipital patch often seen in infants is usually physiological, resulting from synchronized shed ding of the final wave of lanugo telogen hairs prior to their replacement by normal scalp hairs. The maxi mum number of scalp hair follicles during the human life span is present at birth; thus, hair follicle density greatest in neonates and lessens progressively during childhood and adolescence as the scalp stretches over the growing skull until it stabilizes in adults (250-3: hairs per cm2") .

The Pug: Quite A Dignified Little Fellow

The Pug is undoubtedly a very old breed, but from where they came is a bit confusing. Authorities differ very much in their opinions of the exact origin of the Pug. Some Pug authorities?€? feel they were brought from Holland many years ago having been imported there from the Cape of Good Hope, and later brought to England. Others say they came from Muscovy. Many writers say they are a cross between the English Bulldog and small Dane.

There were dogs resembling the Pug we know today in the Buddhist monasteries in Tibet before 400 BC. They were also seen in Japan and Europe becoming the favorite of royal courts in those countries. The Pug became popular in Holland around the mid-1500?€?s.

Other important positions of the Pug throughout history were:

?€? The Pug became the official dog of the House of Orange in Holland in 1572. It has been said this occurred after a Pug saved the life of William, Prince of Orange. Apparently the Pug was instrumental in giving the Prince an alarm at the approach of the Spaniards at Hermingny.

?€? The Pug was an important pet of Josephine, wife of Napoleon in 1790.

One fact remains that were not heard of in England until about the time of William III, at which time, they became great favourites among the aristocracy. They were pampered and petted. During the lifetime of the great painter Hogarth the Pug?€?s popularity in the Flemish provinces was well documented by his pictures. The Pug is seen in many of his famous pictures.

Two strains in England known as the Willoughby and the Morrison in the years of 1840 and 1850 were well known. The Willoughby strain was named after Lady Willoughby de Eresby, a Pug fancier who obtained a dog from Vienna, formerly the property of a Hungarian Countess. In 1864 he was mated to a female imported from Holland of correct fawn color with black mask and trace but without brindle. From this union the celebrated Willoughby Pug with its ?€?saddle mark?€?or ?€?wide trace,?€?found its origin. The Morrison strain was of richer color and without much black marking, also a larger type and supposedly a lineal descendant of the stock owned by Queen Charlotte.

The Pug derives his name from a Greek word which women's jackets forms the root of the Latin pugnus, a fist, as his profile closely resembles a man?€?s hand when tightly clenched. However, this definition is one of question. Others think his name is more likely to have arisen from a study of the countenance as well as general appearance of the animal. His jet black muzzle or mask is also called ?€?Carlin,?€?from the resemblance to a harlequin who was famous in France at one time in history. The breed was known in France previously as ?€?dogmus?€?and ?€?roquets.?€?Many wealthy families owned and celebrated their Pugs especially as ?€?parlour pets.?€?When the owner sat for a portrait, the Pug sat in a prominent place in the foreground.

The Pug has a stately look about him which seems to state his feelings of dignity and how well they know their importance. They are generally affectionate, yet with a jealous streak of their mistress if she gives attention to others in the doggy community. He is easy going otherwise and good tempered. The Pug is clever and can be comically mischievous having an out-going personality. Do not feed your Pug excessively. They seem to have a tendency to overeat if allowed and become overweight, which is not healthy for any breed of dog.

The general appearance of the Pug is a large-headed, smooth-coated, square built and cobby shape standing with an air of importance and dignity. Eyes of a Pug are usually dark and large.

Pug have a short, square muzzle, therefore, they are not too happy in hot, cold or humid weather. Don?€?t leave them outside or closed in cars in the summer or winter months.

Grooming the Pug is fairly easy. They have a smooth, slick hair coat that is easily combed and brushed. You won?€?t find any mats and tangles on these guys!

Some common diseases and disorders of the Pug might be:

?€? Hip dysplasia;
?€? Patellar Luxation;
?€? Entropion;
?€? Demodectic mange;
?€? Heat stroke due to the short muzzle;
?€? Pug encephalitis.

The Pug is also prone to obesity, as mentioned above, arthritis and heart disease.

The Pug makes a good pet companion to the young and old, children and teenagers.

Let's Take a Look at Clamps

Certain ladder racks are supported through an integrated system of clamps that hold it in place. Reconnect the clamps to the terminals and thinly coat them with petroleum jelly. To complete your design there are high grade ball ties (bungee), tarp ties, foot pads, canopy anchors, S-hooks, grommets, tarp tape, spring clamps, fabric clips, ratchet style tie down straps, trigger style tie down straps.

Lift her tail gently, if she clamps down, gently women's coats wiggle her tailbone to assist in relaxation. A half dozen hand tools will be needed to make your guitar and these include a plane, block saw, hand scraper, several chisels, jigsaw wire cutters, several clamps, a power drill, and a 6 inch circle cutter. For the uninitiated, a capo is a device that clamps around your guitar neck to "change" the position of the nut.

Install the forks and torque the triple clamps to manufacturer's specification. Be reminded that axle bolts and axle clamps generally require a lot of force. Sometimes it is the bolts holding the axle clamps and the adjuster bolts if in case your bike has it.

Set-Up Box for Electrical Cords a second set-up box is needed for extension cords, power bar, clamps, duct tape (to tape cords down), electrical tape, glass cleaner, paper towels and spare light bulbs. Like tensioning there are basically three methods, Flying or Floating clamps, Glide Bar clamps and 360 degree Rotational clamps. Then clean the battery terminals and the inside of the cable clamps with a post and clamp cleaner.

Angle Clamps is good and heavy and will hold picture frames pieces secure. This is convenient, however, if is care is not take, the glue will penetrate through the pores of the wood and stick clamps or fingers to the model airplane. To complete your design there are high grade ball ties (bungee), tarp ties, foot pads, canopy anchors, S-hooks, grommets, tarp tape, spring clamps, fabric clips, ratchet style tie down straps, trigger style tie down straps.

An inspection of belts and hoses to ensure that clamps are tight and belts are taught. The rear spring clamps would not stay clipped up inside the aluminium arch rails. Clamps it is possible to buy clamps especially for model use, but for the most part you can get by with a good supply of rubber bands and some clothes pegs a stock of several types of glue should be kept.

Double clamp both sides with stainless rubber hose clamps. Care & Maintenance For the most part, clamps simply need to be kept clean and dry. Set the fork projection through the top clamps to the stock position.

These clamps come in an amazing array of sizes to accommodate nearly any job. It is a folded metal about two inches by one inch and is shaped like a letter 'U' that clamps money together. Use chains with inch link sizes or greater with hooks or clamps to attach to the barbell.

It clamps down on Baghdad and looses control of Iraq. You may need to purchase wrap-around clamps, terminal taps or extensions for making an easy connection to each battery post. Then I can remove the pipe clamps.

There are several types of clamps. It's important not to lose track of one key point, there are 2 sets of clamps on a set of jumper cables. To complete your design there are high grade ball ties (bungee), tarp ties, foot pads, canopy anchors, S-hooks, grommets, tarp tape, spring clamps, fabric clips, ratchet style tie down straps, trigger style tie down straps.

Chantilly Cat and Kitten Information

The Chantilly cat is also called the Tiffany. This cat has a semi long coat that is silky smooth and soft with no undercoat. They come in many colors including the original chocolate, fawn, blue, lilac and cinnamon. Many patterns are accepted for this breed. The tail is plumed and this cat has contrasting neck ruff. The eye color of the Chantilly cat is gold yellow amber.

The Chantilly is a loyal breed that is very affectionate to humans. They can be a one person cat. Many people who own these cats try to own more than one for companionship. Chantillys take easily to training, are easy to care for and love the company of their favorite humans.

Chantilly Cat History

The Chantilly cat or Tiffany cat as it is sometimes called was fir fashion coats st discovered at an estate sale in 1967. Little was known about the two cats purchased at this sale except for their striking appearance. Work was done on this possible breed and the ACA registered several of these cats in the 1970s as Foreign Longhairs. It is thought that this breed might be an offshoot of the Burmese breed.

The ancestor of all domestic cats is the African Wildcat, the genus Felis Lybica. This genus is comprised of smaller cats. Cats are thought to have been domesticated with the advent of farming and the storage of grain. The grain attracted rats and other vermin which naturally attracted wild cats. As time evolved, certain of these cats were domesticated for the mutual benefit of both cat and man. The African Wildcat has certain features which is obvious in the housecat of today.

Feline Health Considerations

Cats who reside in the house should generally visit the veterinarian yearly, unless health problems are evident. Cats who enjoy the outdoors may need to see the vet as many as four times a year. When you take your cat to the vet, be sure to bring along a fresh stool sample so the vet can do a fecal exam to check for internal parasites such as tapeworm, round worm, whip worms and hook worms.

The vet will also check for external parasites such as fleas, ticks and ear mites. Feline Enteritis, Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus pose serious health dangers to cats and vaccinations against these diseases should be given as soon as recommended by your veterinarian.

Any vet check should include a complete dental examination and a cleaning if necessary. Cats who are eight years of age or older are considered geriatric and additional blood and urine tests may be necessary to screen for any health problems. At about six months of age, the kitten should also be examined for sexual maturity and decisions about birth control should be made.

Chantilly Kittens

The Chantilly cat or Tiffany cat as it is sometimes called is a rare breed but may be found for sale as kittens. Kittens are generally available and the price depends upon bloodlines color and markings. Either way, these cats are not inexpensive. Unlike puppies, kittens should not be separated from their mother until twelve to sixteen weeks of age. Some very important developmental stages occur during this period including emotional, mental and health. Curtailing this development may lead to any number of medical and behavioral problems.

Kittens that are separated from their mother at too young an age often fail to gain weight fast enough, have immune system problems because they have not had enough mothers milk. The may also develop eating and eliminating problems, and can have problems socializing with other cats and with people. Kittens, regardless of the breed, have much to learn the mother so early separation should be avoided.

Every cat and kitten is an individual so not everything in this information may be correct for your cat or kitten. This information is meant as a good faith guideline only.

Online Dating Advice: Is He Wired To Cheat?

Copyright (c) 2011 Dirk Sayers

You don't have to spend much time snooping around online dating sites and blogs before cheating in some form comes up. Our fascination with it ranks up there with earthquakes, war and assassination attempts on government officials. A January 18th post by Charles Orlando entitled "Cheating Is in Our DNA" is the latest illustration I've found for that fascination. In it he states: "Monogamy isn't for everyone. In fact, many argue that it's not a natural state for men. In many ways, I think that those people are right. DNA-wise, both genders are driven by primal instincts to continue our species." Depending on who you ask, infidelity rates for both genders vary widely. Depending on which case you're trying to make, you can find statistics that can be construed to support your position. According to a study by the Journal of Sex Research, 80% of all women and 98% of all men "have frequent fantasies involving persons other than their partners." They go on to observe that the gender gap narrows in longer-term relationships, though they don't define what they mean by "longer."

Numbers like this beg a couple of questions.

1. Are we really wired in a way that is at odds with the (generally) accepted model of monogamy?
2. If I'm online looking for love (as opposed to companionship that is less formal, is the pool of available men more or less likely to stray?

I'll take these in order. My knee-jerk, unscientific answer to the first question is maybe. There have been any number of studies that have established that the next basic instinct after survival is procreation. Even essentially moralistic documents such as the Bible have examples of not instinctive but conscious decisions to eschew monogamy in favor of progeny and/or the survival of the clan/nation/religion. A more intriguing question to me is how will social evolution going forward affect our model of monogamy? As we live longer (if we continue to do so) will we continue to engage in serial monogamy as we "outgrow" relationships and re-pair with someone else? That seems to be our pattern now.

But what about later? Will we abandon monogamy altogether, as the myth of forever declines in the face of mounting empirical evidence? What other models/alternatives may emerge? Time will tell, of course. Whatever changes and however it comes, it certainly won't happen overnight. If I had to guess, it will not replace the long term, committed relationship, even if a more "flexible" alternative emerges that large numbers find attractive.

On a more practical level, if you're looking online for love, do you have to worry about the men you meet there being "ahead" of some hypothetical evolutionary social curve...making him more inclined to stray? My knee-jerk (and again, not scientific) answer is no. If anything, men who invest the time needed to construct a compelling profile worthy of response (you are holding out for that, right?) is more likely to be committed and enduringly so. There's just too much self-examination and self-revelation involved. The "player" looking for the quick score is unlikely to go there, much less be able to maintain a facade you won't be able to see through, if you just pay attention.

What do I mean? I thought you'd never ask! As you read a profile, ask yourself the same questions about him, that you (hopefully) asked and answered about yourself when you wrote your profile.

1. Who am I (Really)?
2. What do I want? (Again, really)
3. What do I bring to the table?

The difference being, of course, you're asking who he is, what does he want and what does he bring to the table. Read his profile for answers to those three questions. If he hasn't answered them, it's reasonable to expect he to do so before you invest much of your time in him...not to mention your heart. It's like "pre-qualifying" for a home. The seller wants to know if the buyer can perform before taking their home off the market. Similarly, you should consider your prospective last, best love's answers to these questions before you take your heart off the market. (Just my opinion...) However you look at it, you are your own be women's jackets st chance at avoiding being a victim. It's really not that hard.

How Safe Is Your Tattoo?

So you're thinking about getting a tattoo? Most likely your greatest concerns have been focused on what design you're getting and where you are going to have it placed. But have you asked yourself about the potential health risks?

Protecting yourself depends very much upon who does your work and the condition of the shop. In fact, virtually all of the advisories from the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention website (www.cdc.gov) are concerned with the safety of the tattoo artist rather than the recipient. In o fashion jackets online ther words, if he is performing his job effectively and running a clean safe shop, you have very little to worry about. Issues such as the transfer of blood borne pathogens (hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV, for example) and staph infections should be a non-issue if your tattoo artist is taking proper precautions. It sounds scary, but the good news is, if the artist is protecting himself properly, he is most certainly protecting you as well.

As a customer you need to concern yourself with the transfer of germs and viral pathogens from the equipment or the artist himself and so ask yourself the following questions:
Did he use fresh needles taken from a sealed packet before placing them into the machine (the gun)?
Did he use an autoclave to sterilize any non-disposable hardware he is using on me?
Is he using fresh ink and fresh disposable ink cups?
Does the shop appear clean and convey the professionalism of a doctor's office?
And finally, is he wearing rubber gloves and treating his hands as sterile equipment?

That last question is perhaps the most important, because if he is not adequately protecting himself, you may develop a reasonable suspicion as to how well he is protecting you. Be a stickler! Accept only the best, most safety-oriented care possible. There is no such thing as good enough in the tattoo business. If your artist does not behave professionally, then you would be wise to seek someone who chooses to conduct business in a way that places the well-being of the customer above all else.

Typically, most problems (if any) arise AFTER you leave the shop. Professional tattoo shops are clean, responsible places of business and if customers get bad work, those places of business tend to go out of business. So if you're getting good work from a good artist at a good shop, half of your concerns have probably been addressed. Now it's YOUR job to make sure you protect your new tattoo and your health with some common sense care.

According to one Maryland tattoo artist we contacted, the most important things for a customer to do after he leaves the shop are:
Treat a new tattoo like any other open wound.
After two or three hours remove the bandage wash it often with soap and water.
Apply a thin coat of topical ointment for the next three or four days.
Leave any scabs alone. They are natural a bandage.
Showering is OK, but avoid soaking in tubs, pools, and especially natural bodies of water such as ponds and lakes.
Do not re-bandage the wound. Air flow is helpful.
Do not let tattoo artist wrap your wound in plastic wrap! A proper, sterile, air-permeable bandage is the best environment for your new tattoo.

How to Find the Best Ladies Golf Clubs

Trying to find ladies golf clubs to fit a female golfer has always been difficult and even though many more women now seem to be playing golf it does not get any easier.

Like any situation where you are trying to find equipment for use by a human, whether male or female, there is always going to be compromise in how suitable the equipment will be.

More Men Than Women Need Golf Clubs

Any lady golfer is always going to find that in a male dominated marketplace the number of options available for suitable ladies golf clubs is going to be on the low side. Golf clubs have high production and development costs and there getting clubs to market just for the ladies may be restrictive from a cost perspective.

Sometimes lucky lady golfers will find just what they need in a golf club straight off the shelf, but it is more usual for this not to occur. What normally happens is that the search for a ladies golf club, which is really comfortable to use, takes a long time to find and this becomes an even longer process when a complete set of golf clubs is needed.

Physical Differences Will Influence Choice

The physical differences between men and women means that both sexes have different requirements when it comes to selecting that perfect golf club. A club that is too stiff or too flexible will not be suitable for the lady golfer and a standard gold club is unlikely to match a female golfers swing in most cases.

If the golf clubs are lighter then they are more likely to be suitable for ladies as the increased swing speed will longer shots, but the lady may find that there is a slight loss of the control that would be available from a heavier club. The actual length of the club is also important as women are normally shorter than men and only a shorter ladies club will bring the comfort required for a better fit.

As with all things where fit and comfort are of great importance it always pays to test the product if at all possible before making the final commitment to part with your money. With ladies golf clubs you must prepare yourself for a lot of research before you reach this point.

Try A Custom Build Or Female Only Clubs

Many golf equipment manufacturers now make golf clubs just for women, including wedges, woods and irons, that are design with meeting the criteria that lady golfers need. These clubs are often lighter in the hand and will contribute greatly to a better golf game for females and more progress than with standard clubs.

As a woman gets better at golf then her demand for better clubs will also increase and the requirement for something that fits really well becomes even more important. In this case it may be necessary to have a set of custom golf clubs made to ensure the best fit pos women's coats sible.

There will be additional costs to pay for ladies golf clubs that are custom made. The upside of this though is that the golf game of anyone that makes this bigger investment is likely to improve quicker and to a higher level and that will make it worthwhile.

Although there are many more purpose built womens golf clubs on the market these days, it is still relatively difficult for a lady golfer to find what she needs to suit her golf skill and her style of golf.

Never Stop Searching For The Best Golf Clubs

Finding the best ladies golf clubs is probably one of the most difficult tasks that a female golfer will face. Therefore it is recommended to make this search a high priority to ensure steady progress in this game, because if you have the right equipment it will be easier to improve.

Goldens and Black Labrador Retrievers,

Today I fell into a trap that I should never have allowed myself to get into. I actually trusted my dog, my Nikki, a 3 year golden retriever.

Nikki is an amazingly affectionate dog, even more than normal for a golden retriever. She is gentle, good natured and behaves pretty well.

She loves going out for car drives, and she is a very well behaved dog in the car. She sits beside me, head hanging out the window and gently watching the world go by. She never gets agitated, restless or excited, even when she spots another dog out the window.

The other day, I took both Nikki, and Benny my black lab out for a drive. This time Benny was sitting in the front. Nikki was in the back. As usual I had the back and front window open.

I drove around the corner, and pulled into my driveway. And, what do I see...Nikki, sitting by the front gate. She must have jumped out the back window as I was pulling around the corner and ran to the gate.

I had absolutely NO clue she had even jumped out. Never before did she ever show any signs of jumping out.

Needless to say I was freaking. I mean, with a little imagination, I could imagine what could have happened.

Rule number one: Don't trust your dogs. No matter how well behaved your dogs are, they are still dogs. Look out for their safety. Always make safety your first priority.

I should have known better. I try to make dog safety and dog training and dog nutrition my priorities. I have 3 dogs, 2 black labs, and my Nikki, a golden retriever. Dukie, one of my black labs is blind. Oddly enough, when I walk my 3 dogs and my neighbour comes and joins me with her dog, Dukie behaves the best. He loves walking and going for car rides. If you are observing him, you would never know he is blind.

The Labrador Retriever ("Labrador" or "Lab" for short), is one of several kinds of retriever, and are the most popular breeds of dog (by registered ownership) in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The breed is exceptionally friendly, intelligent and good natured, and as a rule these qualities mean that Labs love people, handle children well, and therefore make excellent family and service dogs. Benny, my black lab and Nikki are both Certified Therapy Dogs. They visit the elderly in homes.
Labradors are relatively large with males typically weighing 60 to 80 lb (27 to 36 kg) and females 50 to 70 lb (23 to 32 kg). They are energetic outgoing dogs, and are black, yellow, or brown (called "chocolate") in color, in that order of frequency. Their fur is usually fairly short and straight, and the tail quite broad and strong. The otter-like tail and webbed toes of the Labrador Retriever make him an excellent swimmer. Their interwoven coat is also waterproof, providing more assistance for swimming. The tail acts as a rudder for changing directions. Yellow labs can have black or pink noses; chocolate and black labs's noses match the coat color.
As with some other breeds, the English and the America lines differ slightly. Labs are bred in England as a medium size dog, shorter and stockier with fuller faces than their American counterparts which are bred as a larger dog. I have both, one English, My Benny, and one American, my Dukie.

The Manchester Terrier is a lively, intelligent dog, fast to learn and easy to train. They can be kept in an apartment as they are active indoors and can get by with frequent long walks. A properly fenced in yard is always best for exercise. Keep the Manchester under control or she may chase almost anything that moves. She should be extensively socialized with children, kids and pets at a young age. She was originally bred as a ratter so beware of her with small pets. She can do ok with older, behaved children. As a reminder, never leave a child unsupervised with a puppy or dog.

Approximate Adult Size

There are two sizes of the Manchester Terrier, Toy and Standard. The Toy size is 10 to 12 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and 6 to 8 pounds. The Standard size is 15 to 16 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and 17 to 18 pounds.

Special Health Considerations

Other diseases may also be significant threats, please contact your veterinarian for a complete list.

Look for hair growing in the ear canal, excess wax, or moisture. If her ears have a discharge, foul odor or she seems to be in distress and you suspect an infection, or tumor, consult your veterinarian.

Brushing removes the accumulation of plaque and tartar which can cause cavities (rarely) and periodontal disease. Dog periodontal disease can lead to pain, loss of teeth, bad breath and other serious disease.

Her toenails may need to be examined for growth and clipped regularly. The toenails of the rear feet grow slower than the toenails of the front feet.

Life Span

The Manchester Terrier can live between 14 and 15 years with proper nutrition, medical care and excellent living conditions.

History

Tips for Unclogging a Toilet

Clogged toilets are a common bathroom problem and generally don't require a plumber to fix them. If done haphazardly they can, however, cause a messy and unpleasant situation. Unclog your toilet in a hassle-free manner.

Avoid repetitive flushing at all costs. Persistent flushing can result in the toilet overflowing, which can be a really messy situation and particularly nasty to clean up. Flush once and if the toilet appears clogged, refrain from flushing again and proceed with unclogging the toilet.

Preparing for Unclogging

If you find yourself lumbered with a clogged toilet it's time to get your rubber gloves on and perform some DIY. This can prevent you from spending unnecessary money on calling a plumber out to fix the situation. Unclogging toilets may be an unpleasant experience but it's generally rather easy.

Make sure you cover your floor women's jackets online with something waterproof garbage bags to avoid damage to your flooring caused by splashes and stains. This is particularly important if you have a carpeted bathroom, as sewage stains on the carpet can be hard to remove and smell unpleasant.

Unclogging Methods

Taking the Plunge

Plunging is one of the most common and successful methods for unblocking a toilet. If there is an object causing a blockage, however, a plunger is not the best method to use for unclogging. If you have poured any chemical down the toilet then avoid using a plunger as the splashes could cause chemicals to burn the skin.

There are two types of plunger: ball plunger and flange plunger. They are simply shape variations of each other and different toilets will require a different plunger. Generally the larger the plunger the easier the unclogging will be.

The best way to use a plunger is to immerse it in the water in the bowl and slowly apply pressure. Plunging in the water has much more effect than plunging in the air so if the water level in the toilet is low you may be required to top it up to its normal flush level. Once pressure has slowly been applied to the plunger, quickly pull back the plunger to create a strong suction in the bowl. This may need repeating a few times to be successful.

If you have an object clogging your toilet, in the first few inches of the drain an unravelled wire coat hanger or knitting needle can be used to dislodge the item. This may also be worth doing if plunging has had no effect on your blockage. Simply push the wire coat hanger or knitting needle to the point of blockage and manoeuvre in circular motions to dislodge the item causing obstruction.

Snake Method

If the blockage in your toilet is caused by an item that is obstructing the drains out of reach of a wire coat hanger, then a plumbing snake should be used to dislodge the item. A plumbing snake is a flexible coil of wire that can "snake" down the drain of a toilet to release a blockage. Simply push the snake as far as the obstruction and keep wriggling it until the water in your bowl begins to drain.

Should your toilet still be clogged after trying the suggested methods then it may be worth calling a plumber to fix the problem as it could be a hard obstruction. Drain cleaners may also be used but try to avoid them where possible as they can cause damage to the environment.

The Unclogging Aftermath

Make sure you thoroughly disinfect your toilet, inside and out, and surrounding areas once the blockage has been cleared. If you have placed garbage pail liners down to catch any spillage then carefully remove and dispose of them. Dispose of any coat hangers or knitting needles used to unblock the toilet as they will now be contaminated. Your toilet should now be ready for business as usual but remember to avoid using too much toilet roll or flushing any objects other than toilet paper and sanitary products that state they are safe to flush on the packet.

About Cat Breeds - The Popular And The Unusual

Given that adopting a cat is a significant commitment - they live for an average of 15 years - it makes sense to learn more about cat breeds before you buy. Two extremely popular purebreds are the Siamese and the Persian, although both of these have characteristics that may make them unsuitable choices for some people. Fortunately, there are a large number of other breeds to choose from, many of them less well known. Two of these less recognized breeds actually give hope to feline loving allergy sufferers, as they have a low-allergy coat and are generally well tolerated.

Although not as popular as they once were, Siamese cats have many loyal fans, and for good reason. They are extremely beautiful and intelligent, although modern breeding practices have introduced an unhealthy leaning towards an overly triangular head shape. Siamese are very vocal, however, which can be a problem for some people, as they may be a little bit determined in putting their views across. This is not a cat for the owner who doesn't have a lot of time to spend with their pet, as Siamese are very people-oriented. They love attention, and they love interacting with their owners. They will follow them from room to room, and are naturally very curious and mischievous when bored.

Unlike Siamese, Persian cats are very even-tempered. They get along well with other dogs and animals, and integrate well in multi-cat households. They also tolerate children well. The biggest drawback - and also their most striking feature - is their amazing coat. A Persian's coat needs daily brushing. It mattes easily, and cats need to be sedated to have their coats clipped, so keeping their long coat in good shape needs to be a priority for Persian owners.

The Siberian cat, or croshca, is another long haired feline. It requires less grooming than the Persian, and needs to be brushed only two or three times a week instead of daily. Their coat is different too. Surviving in the deep cold of a Russian winter, the croshca has a waterproof, slightly oil coat. Siberian cats are very playful, and affectionate. Like the Siamese, they grow very attached to their owners, so this is something to keep in mind when selecting a breed. The Siberian is one possibility for those with cat allergies, as their coats are believed to be hypoallergenic.

Devon rex cats are another option for those allergic to cats. They have a very thin, soft, slightly crinkly coat that sheds very little. The coat itself is also hypoallergenic. Be warned however - devon rex are extremely playful and mischievous. They are also very fond of food, and have been known to be quite resourceful in finding it even when hidden away. The devon rex is very affectionate, and another people-oriented cat that will follow you around and 'help' with chores.

Feline breeds all have their own distinctive characteristics. This is something to keep in mind as you learn about cat breeds before you buy. Do you have children or other pets? How much time do you want to spend with a cat, and does your work schedule allow it? Getting two cats together (if you don't already have one) is never a bad idea women's jackets online as it provides companionship for both. But some cats still demand more of their humans than others do, though they often give at least as much back.
